Welcome to the future of legal service on 14 November 2012 in Stockholm

This year VQ and Regi combine their annual events VQ Knowledge and Strategy Forum and the Law Firm of the Year (Årets Advokatbyrå) into one joint grand happening in cooperation with InfoTorg, making it the legal strategy event of the year in Scandinavia.

This one-day conference covers topics of interest for leadership, strategy, innovation and technology for the legal and professional services market. The programme has a strong focus on legal market trends, the changing legal landscape, how in-house counsel demands are changing the dynamics of legal service, how to leverage the internal knowledge and what strategies or technologies will improve service delivery and the specialized practice needs of in-house counsel.

With the three very distinguished and internationally renowned speakers Susan Hackett, Charles Christian and Chris Bull, the innovative and award-winning law firm directors Eric Hunter and David Fitch, and prominent Swedish expert speakers, interesting and reputable exhibitors and a truly eminent chairperson, VQ Forum promises to deliver an exciting and inspiring experience.

 

Insights from Regi's survey the Law Firm of the Year (Årets Advokatbyrå), Sweden's largest survey among buyers of business law services, will then be presented with analysis from both a Swedish and an international perspective. As a grand finale the Law Firm of the Year awards ceremony  will take place with a subsequent cocktail reception with entertainment, food and drinks, and mingle all night long.

SUSAN HACKETT served for 22 years as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), where she earned a reputation for innovation, excellence and success in serving the specialized practice needs of in-house counsel, and the law firms and legal services with whom they collaborate. Since last year she is CEO of Legal Executive Leadership, specializing in driving collaborative value, efficiency, and improved processes in law departments and law firms. At VQ Forum Susan will bring her decades of unparalleled access to, knowledge of, and experience in driving leading practices in order to share how newly emerging practices promise to turn the future delivery of corporate legal services "inside out."

The former practising barrister turned independent commentator and journalist who has been described as "one of the top ten key individuals who act as movers and shakers in the legal IT world today", CHARLES CHRISTIAN, CEO and Editor-In-Chief of Legal Technology Insider will share his insights from over 30 years of reporting and advising on developments in law office technology and online legal services.

As a requested return from last year, CHRIS BULL, the highly respected strategy consultant at Edge International and former chief executive of Osborne Clarke and former European chief operating officer at Integreon, will provide his insights on the UK legal market developments following the new regulatory changes.

ERIC HUNTER is the award-winning Director of Knowledge, Innovation & Technology Strategies at Bradford & Barthel, who is famous for his integration of a Google-driven social media knowledge and collaboration environment within the firm and for constantly looking to leverage innovation solutions to enhance client service interaction while driving business optimization solutions internally.

DAVID FITCH is the recently appointed Director of Knowledge Management at Latham & Watkins LLP, a global role, based in London, that includes responsibility for the firm's network of knowledge management lawyers and the further development and implementation of knowledge strategy, culture and processes at the firm. David is a qualified lawyer by background, with over ten years knowledge management experience at leading international law firms. In 2009, he was awarded Knowledge Officer of the Year (International) at the Legal Technology Awards in London.

Furthermore, CARL ÖSTRING, General Counsel at Traction and former Managing Partner of Magnusson Stockholm, will present his views on the changing roles for in-house counsels and the demands for new legal services and its effects on the Swedish market.

Additional speakers will then will provide insights on legal technology, the use of knowledge management and innovative ways to provide new legal services to meet the clients demands. KNUT-MAGNAR AANESTAD, Chief Knowledge Officer at Schjodt Law Firm, will provide a practical example of how standard software can be used to make bespoke solutions. LUISE DE KORT, Head of Marketing at Karnov Group, will share how the concept of the new Lexino tool supports and facilitates legal professionals, and ANN BJÖRK and HELENA HALLGARN, founders Virtual Intelligence VQ, will share their views on legal service developments and all possibilities available for law firms that are willing to take on the challenge, as well as provide insights on how to develop innovative service delivery by the use of technology.

The conference will be chaired by ANNETTE MAGNUSSON, Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

LOCATION

This year the conference will take place at Berns, which is a cosmopolitan meeting place in the middle of Stockholm which combines a first class business meeting area with hotel, restaurants, concerts and theatrical shows. Since its opening in 1863 Berns has been a unique venue for contemporary culture and entertainment attracting both renowned Swedish and international artists. The conference programme during the day will be held in the beautiful venue Kammarsalen.
