This year, ELTACon took place in Paris, bringing together professionals for knowledge sharing and networking. The event also emphasized the importance of supporting women in legal tech. As part of this effort, Marisa Monteiro Borsboom, Vice President of ELTA, invited six female ELTA Ambassadors— Ana-Maria Drăgănuță Briard, Christiana Aristidou, Nino Jibuti, Margrét Anna Einarsdóttir, Helena Hallgarn and Leila El Gharbi—on stage for further introductions (see picture above).
One of the standout panel sessions featured Caroline Hill, Stephanie Fougou and Isabel Parker, who engaged in an interesting discussion about how lawyers can adapt to an increasingly dynamic landscape. The panelists stressed the growing need for commercial awareness, encouraging legal teams to be proactive, nimble, and skilled at balancing legal, financial, and commercial considerations.
With AI tools now handling many routine tasks, the panel explored how this shift is influencing the training of young lawyers. Instead of focusing on repetitive work, training should prioritize developing strategic thinking, risk management, and decision-making skills. The ability to analyze data was also highlighted as essential for navigating uncertainty and making informed, data-driven decisions.
The session concluded with a clear message: the future of law demands agility, strategic focus, and a readiness to embrace change step by step in a constantly evolving environment.
