VQ Legal cooperates with the University of Gothenburg

Next week, VQ founders Helena Hallgarn and Ann Björk will join the Tech Academy at Lund University to share their insights on how to think differently about the world of tech law, and on how to embrace the challenges that come with the future of digitalization.

And a couple of weeks ago, Helena Hallgarn was giving a lecture on “What is your role in the future legal landscape?” at the Cyberlaw program at the University of Stockholm. This is a program initiated by Stanley Greenstein, assistant Professor at the department of Law at Stockholm University, and the idea behind this program is to introduce lawyers to legal issues in connection with digitalisation and give some views of how this will change the role for the lawyer in the future.

But these are not the only initiatives by Law Schools to better prepare students for their future working life. The School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg is now for the third time offering the program “The Business Lawyer” to its law students to prepare those who are interested in working at law firms.

This is an initiative by Jens Andreasson, Senior Lecturer in Private Law, that has gained a lot of interest from both law students and law firms. “The response from law firms has been great. They partner with us in the case development for the course and provide us with experienced business lawyers as lecturers during the course.”

The idea for this program is that the students will act as advising lawyers in supporting a fictious client handling several different legal issues. They will receive lectures by practicing lawyers who are specialists within different practice areas. VQ is very happy to be partnering with this initiative via VQ Legal, our intelligent legal solution with readymade standard documents focusing on business law. In order to be able to handle these legal matters in a professional manner, and really focus on the upcoming legal questions, the students will be able to use the online tool VQ Legal. That way they have access to drafted legal documents, adapted to their situation, when they start handling each legal matter.

“It is a unique opportunity for law students to be guided through different business cases and gain valuable insights into the life of a business lawyer,” according to Jens Andreasson.
