VQ founders Helena Hallgarn and Ann Björk have joined forces with thought leaders and experts from across the legal industry to create a new international think tank to support change across the legal sector.
The Changing Legal think tank will focus primarily on three interlinked areas – providing pathways out of the time-based legal economy (i.e. moving beyond the billable hour); promoting shared standards and legal data sharing; and rethinking the means of legal production, i.e. supporting the idea that society is best served by a wide range of legal services businesses, and that in some markets this may require regulatory change.
Changing Legal Chair and Founder of Artificial Lawyers, Richard Tromans, commented: “Changing Legal is a forum to develop solutions and pathways that will help those who want change, to make that change real. We don’t have all the answers, but if we can normalise and widen the debate of these subjects, and build alliances of like-minded people – on a global basis – then we hope to have a positive impact.”
