The platform is changing

Jordan Furlong, a leading analyst of the global legal market, Law21, writes in The platform is changing that the legal market delivery platform is changing from big firms to internet based. He compares it to how Word took over the market from WordPerfect.

Jordan Furtlong summarizes the new situation for the legal services and makes an analogy to WordPerfect versus Word.

“WordPerfect had a virtual monopoly on word processing in big firms that used DOS. Then Windows arrived and the folks at WordPerfect didn’t feel the need to hurry in porting themselves on the new platform. They had achieved lock-in after all, and why support Microsoft. In less than a year, they were toast./…/Again and again the same rules apply. In fact, they always do./…/This is happing, right now, in the legal services marketplace.”
