Following last year’s success VQ will arrange a new Knowledge and Strategy Forum at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm on 4 October 2011. This year we are proud to present Professor Richard Susskind as our key note speaker on his first public speaking engagement in Sweden.
Professor Richard Susskind is the guru of legal technology and visionary predictions for the future of the legal profession worldwide. He has specialised in legal technology since the early 1980s and is Emeritus Professor of Law at Gresham College, IT adviser to the Lord Chief Justice and consultant to national governments and major professional firms. He has written extensively on the evolution of the legal profession and the impact of emerging technologies, as a regular columnist at The Times newspaper and in numerous books, including “The Future of Law” and “The End of Lawyers? Rethinking the Nature of Legal Services” .
VQ Forum will focus on Richard Susskind’s predictions on the changing roles for the legal profession and the need for increased professionality and efficiency by combining business development with technology. Richard will provide his views and insights, which will be followed by a discussion forum and speakers, sharing their experiences and thoughts on the topic, such as:
Christer Danielsson (chair of the conference), Partner with Stockholm niche firm Danielsson & Englund. Christer is primarily acting as arbitrator and counsel in arbitral and court proceedings. Prior to setting up his own firm in 2006 he was a partner of Gernandt & Danielsson for eight years, four of which as managing partner.
Anne Ramberg, Secretary General of the Swedish Bar Association since 2000, following 23 years as a practising lawyer. In addition Anne has served as Chair of the Stockholm Section of the Swedish Bar Association and as a Council Member of the Swedish Bar Association. She has also held positions as a Member of the Swedish Press Council and the Chair of the Lawyers Association, Stockholm.
Joakim Edoff, CEO and Exeuctive Partner at Setterwalls, who previously held the position as Setterwalls Knowledge Manager and was responsible for leading the firm’s Knowledge Management-work.
Björn Kristiansson, Partner at Hannes Snellman, with experience from Knowledge Management at law firms such as Linklaters and Vinge, as well as being expert advisor to the Swedish Corporate Governarnce Board and responsible for the Guide to the Swedish Securities Council’s statement.
Rob Ameerun, Business Development Manager Legal at Nobel, with extensive experience as Legal IT consultant and the founder and owner of Legal IT Professionals, the leading international source of independent legal IT news, information and expert commentary.
After the end of the conference programme there will be a complimentary cocktail reception at Grand Hôtel, starting at 5:00 pm.
